A controlled process, from mill gate to verified carbon.

Continuous operation, engineered safeguards and traceability for every batch, run with the plant discipline our leadership brings from wood processing and designed for independent assurance.

The production sequence.

Feedstock intake

Bagasse is collected from partner mills in close proximity to the plant, minimising haulage distance and associated emissions.

  • Lasting supply agreements with regional mills
  • Inspection and logging on arrival
  • Covered storage to protect feedstock quality

Size reduction & screening

A drum chipper and screening line reduce fibres to a uniform particle size, a discipline our leadership refined over years in board manufacturing.

  • Oversize material recirculated
  • Foreign matter removed
  • Continuous conveyor transfer

Drawn from our leadership’s experience in wood processing

Thermal drying

As in timber processing, moisture is controlled before anything else. A rotary dryer conditions the feedstock, its burner fuelled by gas recovered from the reactor.

  • Cyclone separation of fine particulates
  • Moisture verified before conversion
  • Process heat recovered and reused

Drawn from our leadership’s experience in wood processing

Continuous pyrolysis

Within a sealed stainless steel reactor, biomass is heated with very little oxygen and converted into stable, porous carbon.

  • Continuous rather than batch operation
  • Temperature and residence time held by PLC
  • Combustible gases cracked and recovered

Emissions treatment

Exhaust gases pass through cyclone collection, bag filtration and wet scrubbing before release, protecting air quality on and around the site.

  • Gas cleaning in several stages
  • Condensate recovery
  • Continuous emissions monitoring

Discharge, grading & packing

Biochar exits through a sealed discharge system cooled by water and is graded and packed to customer specification, to inspection standards our leadership applied in wood processing.

  • Cooled discharge prevents reignition
  • Grading to agreed specification
  • Each lot linked to its production batch

Drawn from our leadership’s experience in wood processing

Measurement, reporting & verification

Every batch is sampled and analysed. Production data and records of final use are reviewed by an independent auditor prior to certificate issuance.

  • Weighing, sampling and laboratory analysis
  • Digital custody records
  • Independent audit before issuance

Delivery & application

Biochar is delivered to agricultural customers, improving soil structure while holding carbon in a durable form.

  • Application guidance for growers
  • End use recorded for verification
  • Lasting benefits to soil performance

Each stage protected by engineered safeguards.

Oxygen control

Sealed feeding and discharge prevent air ingress to the reactor at all times.

Continuous monitoring

Multiple thermocouples feed live data to the control system.

Pressure management

Explosion relief panels and an independent combustion chamber.

Bringing the facility online.

With the process and its safeguards defined, this is the sequence we follow from initial assessment to first certified issuance.

  1. Assessment

Site, feedstock and market studies confirm the opportunity and inform plant design.

  2. Supply & offtake

Feedstock agreements with regional mills and early engagement with offtakers.

  3. Registration & permitting

Free zone registration, environmental approvals and operating licences, sequenced with the relevant authorities.

  4. Construction

Civil works and factory structure progress in parallel with equipment manufacture and shipment.

  5. Installation & commissioning

Supplier engineers install the line, conduct performance trials and hand over to our operations team.

  6. Training & operation

Operators are trained on safety and control systems; production ramps up in a controlled manner.

  7. Certification & expansion

Registry onboarding and first verified issuance, followed by planning for additional capacity.

Review the process in detail.

The same process yields both our products: graded biochar and verified carbon removal. We welcome technical discussions on its design and safety systems.
